Michelle is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a keen interest in working with children and their families, to develop personalised nutrition goals and care plans that are in line with medical interventions. Her overseas upbringing and trainings in Australia have shaped her interests in various cuisines and food cultures and she enjoys collaborating with families from all walks of life with an open-minded approach. Michelle speaks fluently in English, Mandarin and Malaysian languages; and is comfortable with Indonesian language and other Chinese dialects such as Cantonese, Hokkien and Teochew.
Michelle’s previous experiences in working with children, families, young people and educators within various settings have moulded her to focus on family-centred nutritional support and evidenced-based practical tools that reflect the unique needs, pace and situations of children and their families. Therefore, she endeavours to build relationships with clients in respectful, emphatic and caring manner to collaboratively achieve children’s nutritional goals and related wellbeing. She also has ongoing commitment to professional development and public health research to be up to date with latest research and evidence in paediatric nutrition and wellbeing. She also believes that teamwork within the multidisciplinary team at WCHC allows her to provide more holistic nutritional and related wellbeing supports for children and families.
