

Poonamdeep Kaur is an experienced physiotherapist with over 10 years of expertise in musculoskeletal care. She holds a Bachelors of Physiotherapy and Master’s degree in Physiotherapy (Orthopaedics).
She is passionate about working with children and develop long-term relationships with families and work within the child’s environment to implement interventions. She is keen about early detection and intervention for infants and is dedicated to supporting the developmental needs of infants and their families.
Poonam has experience working with children with a wide range of conditions, including orthopedic conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation, trauma, neuromuscular conditions, genetic conditions, and common infant concerns such as torticollis, plagiocephaly and gross motor/developmental delay. Poonam is trained in complex equipment prescription, including powered mobility.
During her time working for the Amandeep hospital India, Poonam was part of the neuromuscular team where she refined her skills in accurately grading muscle strength and joint range. She developed a passion for working with children with Neuromuscular conditions and looks forward to continuing with the care of children living with neuromuscular conditions in the community setting. While working in hospitals, Poonam also gained experience in neonatal inpatient care and respiratory intensive care. She draws on this knowledge and background context from working in these settings when working with children in outpatient and community roles.
Poonam is interested in clinical education. Before moving to Australia, she worked as Assistant professor under Guru Nanak Dev University India. She has supervised and mentored Physiotherapy students and Allied Health Assistants.
Outside of work, Beyond her professional commitments, Poonam enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, allowing her to connect with a diverse range of patients.
